If you do not want to give Kornukopia permission to use your information, simply do not provide it. However, not providing certain information may result in Kornukopia’s inability to provide you with the information or services you desire.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) guarantees that the academic records for students over 18 years old cannot be discussed with anyone except the student or authorized  High school and University personnel. However, certain information classified as “Directory Information” is available for public consumption unless the student specifically directs that it be withheld. Public Directory Information as defined by the act includes: Student’s name, addresses (campus, home, e-mail), telephone listings, photograph, date and place of birth, major field of study, class year, participation in officially recognized activities and sports, weight and height of members of athletic teams, dates of attendance, enrollment status (e.g., undergraduate or graduate; full-time, half-time, part-time), degrees, honors, and awards received, and the most recent previous educational institution attended.

The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) governs information gathering online from or about children under the age of 13. A school must get certifiable consent from a child’s parent or guardian is required before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information from a child under the age of 13.

We collect no information about you or your child, other than that detailed in the previous section, when you visit our web site unless you choose to provide information to us

There are several exceptions that permit collection of a child’s email address without receiving parental consent in advance:
